Tate Geren E.I. B.S. Civil Engineering M.S. Environmental Engineering  Tate Geren is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. He received a BA degree from Maryville College in Maryville, TN in 2008. He then returned to Knoxville to complete his BS degree in Civil Engineering in 2009 from the University of Tennessee, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. In 2010 he received a MS in Environmental Engineering. His Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering was with a concentration in the area of water resources. While completing his MS at the University of Tennessee, Tate wrote his thesis entitled, “Streamflow Reconstructions of Southern Appalachian (North Carolina) Headwater Gages Using Tree Rings.” During this study, Tate successfully reconstructed May-June-July streamflow for three streams in the study area. This was the first attempt at streamflow reconstruction in Southern Appalachia. Tate’s primary contribution to Construction Engineering Consultants is providing water resources engineering, erosion prevention and sediment control support to litigation cases. Tate has successfully completed the Level 1 Fundamentals of Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control for Construction Sites training course, and is a certified inspector for Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans. Tate is a Certified XL Tribometrist and has performed slip resistance testing on a variety of cases. He also has extensive knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and routinely performs reviews for compliance with the ADA and other building codes. Tate has provided support on a wide variety of cases throughout Alabama, Illinois, West Virginia, and Tennessee during his time at CEC as an intern and an associate. Areas of Expertise:
